Queen Latifah will be playing alongside Jennifer Garner in Sony’s faith-based drama ‘Miracles From Heaven’. The film is about a woman named Christy Beam (Garner) and a series of miracles unfold, leaving her family, her daughter’s doctors and the community baffled.
Latifah plays a Boston waitress who becomes friends with Christy and her daughter during their visits to Boston Children’s Hospital. Latifah steps in to provide comfort and a helping hand and her life ends up transformed by her interaction with the family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
The film reunites producers Joe Roth, T.D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin — the team behind last year’s breakthrough hit Heaven Is for Real — and is seen as a follow-up to that film, which earned more than $100 million worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing faith-based hits of all time. Sony Pictures, which has been a trailblazer in the mainstream faith-based film market, has scheduled Miracles From Heaven for release on March 18, 2016, one week before the Easter holiday.
Miracles From Heaven was published by Hachette Books on April 14, 2015.
