Our First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, January 11, where she opened up about President Barack Obama’s emotional farewell speech.
FLOTUS and her daughter, Malia Obama, teared up during the speech, which took place in Chicago at the McCormick Place convention center.
“It is [getting emotional]. It’s nuts. I feel like crying right now. I didn’t think that it was going to be that emotional because it’s like, ‘Yeah, we’re ready. Yeah, we’re good. It’s been eight years. Eight years is enough. We’re packing up. But no, it has been surprisingly emotional for all of us in ways that we didn’t expect.”

“Malia looked over at me and said, ‘I can’t believe I’m going to cry through the whole speech’ and I said, ‘It’s OK.”
Her youngest daughter, Sasha Obama, was noticeably absent Tuesday night (January 10, 2017), however sources say she stayed home to study for her exams.
Joking, FLOTUS said:
“She had a final. And it’s like, You know the Obamas, girl. Sorry! You have to take your test. You can say goodbye later.”
